Many of our dancers have been spending a lot more time online. As a result, they have adapted to a world where it appears to be the norm for communication. As a result, it may be that children feel that it is acceptable to talk to adults on a webcam all the time.
As some places may open up, it’s important to remind children of some of the risks and to educate parents about the risks when surfing the internet.
Ray Chambers from the Chambers Academy of Irish Dancing has produced an E-Safety video to support his parents. Some of the content is specific to the United Kingdom, but the message is to stay safe. This video may help you make your own resource so that you can discuss the risks with some of your dance parents.
